We’ve all done it at some point, quoted He-Man or John McClane to our friends or on Facebook so I thought I would get a few of those one lines down that I have used:
Die Hard (and the sequels):
“Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker.” - John McClane .
Masters of the Universe:
“At the center of the universe, at the border between the light and the dark stands Castle Grayskull. For countless ages, the Sorceress of Grayskull has kept this universe in harmony, but the armies of darkness do not rest and the capture of Grayskull is evermost in their minds. For to those who control Grayskull will come the power. The power to be supreme, the power to be almighty, the power to be Masters of the Universe.” – He-Men movie intro, I can’t tell you how many time me and my friends used to say this and many other lines from the Dolph Lundgren cult commercial failure. This film used to get put on at the end of every party I had during college. My VHS copy actually fell apart in the end I had managed to get a DVD copy from eBay.
Matrix:
“You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.” - Morpheus
“Do not try to bend the spoon — that’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth: there is no spoon.” – Spoon Boy
“Good bye, Mr. Anderson.” – Agent Smith
With so many good lines from this masterpiece of science fiction I had to narrow them down to three (sorry Neo).
Back to the Future:
“Why don’t you make like a tree and… get outta here?” – Biff Tannen
This is just a selection of quotes that I know I have used at one time or another, I am a bit of a sucker for cult classic quotes and even the clichéd ones out of crackers. I would love to hear some of your cult classic quotes in the comments below.
