This gloomy yet exciting picture is an insight into what’s to come in the seventh season of Doctor Who is launches later this month for five episodes, then returning for the Christmas 2012 Special and another eight episodes next year.
The fifth episode was confirmed in March, at the Doctor Who Convention in Cardiff, that Gillan and her co-star Arthur Darvill (Rory) will be departing the sci-fi drama in the New York-set episode and will feature the return of the Weeping Angels.
At 6am today the BBC will release a trailer for the new season.
