It’s that time of the week again – the day before the new comics hit the stands. I know it’s stressful, so many comics to choose from. So you what you going to do? Don’t worry Geeks Unleashed have got your back!
We’ve search high and low, through the many publishers to bring you some gems. They may be hot, they may not but they are definitely worth a look.
First up from Bongo Comics is Lil Homer #1:
This isn’t normally my kind of comic but who doesn’t love the Simpsons? And who wouldn’t love a chance to catch what young Homer was up to in his youth?
Tony Digerolamo, Carol Lay (A) Scott Shaw, Mary Trainor (CA) Jason Ho, Mike Rote
Long before Bart Simpson appeared on the scene, Springfield had its own original ‘bad boy’ – the dim but adorable Li’l Homer. And you can be sure wherever Li’l Homer goes, trouble follows. Whether he’s just trying to fly a kite, searching for a lost donut, or matching wits with a real mean genie, Li’l Homer always comes out on top!
Our next comic to watch out for was built if I’m honest mostly around the cover although from the first issue this as been one of the stronger New DC 52 titles from an amazing creative team – Aquaman #12:
Geoff Johns (A) Ivan Reis, Joe Prado (CA) Joe Prado, Ivan Reis
– The conclusion to ‘The Others’!
– The traitor in the team is revealed!
– Who is BLACK MANTA working for?
Format: FC, 32pg., COMIC
Last but by no means least is the sellout X-O Manowar #4 by Valiant Comics, their whole line has been incredibly strong since their relaunch which the first issue of X-O Manowar now it’s fourth printing which is also released tomorrow, so now would be as good a time as any to pick a Valiant Comic if you haven’t already done so:
Robert Venditti (A) Cary Nord (CA) Doug Braithwaite
With the enormous power of the X-O Manowar armor at his command, Aric has returned to Earth hell bent on destroying the Roman Empire. But the Rome he encounters is as alien to him as the Vine colony ship he escaped from — because 1,600 years have transpired in his absence. Without fully understanding the consequences of his actions, will Aric’s first act in the modern day ignite a new world war? Meanwhile, the secret history of the Vine’s presence on Earth is finally revealed. Who is corporate mogul Alexander Dorian? Will he be Aric’s one ally in this strange new world — or his very first enemy?
