We’re back again with this weeks recommendations.

Stephen – Talon #0:

Talon #0 is a new title from DC, part of the New 52 second wave. Spinning straight out of the pages of Batman it features Calvin Rose, the only Talon to escape the clutches of the Court of Owls. He’s trying to live a normal life now, but that is going to be impossible, as the Court is determined to catch him. The Court of Owls and the Talon assassins were really interesting new creations and a welcome addition to the Batman myth. I think an ongoing series written by Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV, with art by Guillem March will be worth picking up.

Jo – Before Watchmen: Ozymandias #3:

“If a man has opportunity to do good, he’s obliged to take it” and so begins Before Watchmen: Ozymandias #3: the beginning of the end. Whilst not the strongest of the Before Watchmen titles, Darwyn Cooke has stolen the show with Minutemen and Silk Spectre, with it’s gorgeous art by Amanda Conner, this series remains promising, unlike Nite Owl. Jae Lee’s art and composition has never been better. Plus there’s a showdown between Adrain Veidt and the Comedian.

Mark – Idolized #2:

There aren’t many solo female titles out there and strangely this week I was torn between two of them – Captain Marvel or Idolized but in the end the if I had to choose it would be Joule the star of Idolized that made the list. What I like about this series is it’s unique twist on the reality television genre – it rips it open and makes it something new and the character of Joule is very easy to relate to. David Schwartz and Micah Gunnell have done a wonderful job creating this series and made the comic a must read. Joule wants to win the reality series and join the Power Protectors, her attitude somewhat reminds of Katniss Everdeen as she is driven to win over making friends as she doesn’t just want redemption she wants revenge!
