
Entertainment Weekly had the scoop on the latest Marvel NOW title due out in February 2013. The NYCC has already revealed several exciting comic book news developments and this is another big news story to add to the list. The book will focus on S.H.I.E.L.D. which already getting a lot of attention thanks to the Avengers 2012 summer blockbuster and the new Joss Whedon helmed TV Series which will be making its debut on the Alphabet network. “S.H.I.E.L.D. has decided that they want their own Avengers team,” says Nick Spencer, who will be on writing duties, with Luke Ross on pencils. “
Back in 2005 Brian Michael Bendis introduced memory implant technology in Secret War and the same technology will be used in the Secret Avengers which means that no one on this team will know their apart of the team. The lineup will include: Hawkeye, Black Widow, Mockingbird, Taskmaster, a brand new Iron Patriot whose identity has yet to be revealed. On call member Hulk will be a part of the team and The Winter Soldier will have a big role in the book but not necessarily as part of the team and one of the exciting things about the memory implant technology is that anyone could be a part of the team.
This title has a great deal of promise and one that I will paying attention to.
