Romo the Smartphone Robot

Geeks and nerds alike love robots. That’s why I’m excited to bring you this weeks review of Romo, the smartphone robot for everyone.

This little dude received some serious upgrades from the first version Romo. The creators made him smarter, faster and easier to use, not to mention the awesome style upgrade! Romo has a funny Monsters, Inc-like face which probably makes it feel like he has some personality.

Romo can be used with the iPhone 4, 4S and iPod Touch 4th Gen. Then you control him with one of a number of devices. Control is done via the touch screen on your device with a joystick icon. It looks pretty easy and responsive.

The campaign is to raise money for software development. Romotive wants to add features like autonomous navigation and facial recognition. They’d also like to allow other developers to create apps for Romo.

Head over to Kickstarter for more information or to contribute.
