Just in time for Halloween is the Red Band trailer of Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead, remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 classic, The Evil Dead. Earlier this month at NYCC, star of the original and general legend Bruce Campbell assured fans the remake “would be awesome”.
From the trailer below, it certainly looks it.
There are welcome nods to the original – the camera work as evil spirits race through the woods to the cabin, an appearance by ‘the book of the dead’ and tree rape. Whilst the body modification echoes scenes from The Evil Dead 2 – Dead by Dawn.
This one is packed full of nastiness. Personally, I can’t wait.
Evil Dead is scheduled for release Spring 2013.
