World War Z, based on Max Brooks’ World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War, is scheduled for release in June 2013. Here’s a sneak peak at the first trailer:

World War Z stars Brad Pitt as Gerry Lanes, a UN worker in a race against time and fate, as he travels the world (I spy Glasgow) trying to stop a deadly zombie pandemic.

The trailer features ‘zombie tsunamis’, which looks all types of fun.

Director Marc Foster (Quantum of Solace, The Kite Runner, Monster’s Ball) had quite the challenge bringing this one of the big screen – the book isn’t one which readily lends itself to movie adaptation.

It looks like we’ll be living in the cinema come summer 2013, with Iron Man, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Man of Steel, Kick-Ass 2, The Wolverine and 300: Rise of an Empire scheduled for release.
