Marvel today released details of the comic book debut of everybody’s favourite crime-fighting serial killer Dexter. Written by series creator and award-winning novelist Jeff Lindsay, with art by Dalibor Talajic (Deadpool), the 5 issue mini-series is due to hit shelves in February 2013.

This will be the first outing in comic book for Dexter Morgan, the Miami based forensic blood spatter expert. Most recognisable from the hit US TV series this unique character is sure to translate superbly on to the pages of a comic book.

It has been a very important part of my life, and has always been a wellspring of creative and relevant ideas. I feel like I’m coming home. It is a huge thrill for me to bring Dexter into this very special pantheon.”

Associate Publisher and SVP Marvel Entertainment was quick to assure long-time fans that the comic book Dexter will fit in to the established world. “Dexter is a perfect fit for comics, bringing an exciting cast of layered characters together with gripping, visually arresting stories. It’s an honor for Marvel to work with a lauded author such as Jeff Lindsay, whose ability to both horrify and move an audience is unparalleled. Fans of Dexter will be thrilled by this new story that fits seamlessly into the world they already know.”
