News of Glen Mazzara departure as showrunner comes as the AMC survival horror; The Walking Dead has been renewed for a fourth season.
The Walking Dead is based of off the Image Comic Book and stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira and Laurie Holden.
Glen Mazzara has stated; “My time as showrunner on ‘The Walking Dead’ has been an amazing experience, but after I finish season 3, it’s time to move on,” he continued. “I have told the stories I wanted to tell and connected with our fans on a level that I never imagined. It doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey.”
In a joint statement both parties have announced that they mutually decided to part ways and acknowledged a difference of opinion on the show going forward.
